About me
I´m from Havana, a city that is known for classic cars from the 50´s, colourful houses, sweet rum, revolutionary icons and the Malecon.
Another thing that is special about Cuba is that music is a natural part of everyday life. You hear latin rythms wherever you go and don´t be surprised if you meet people dancing salsa on the streets.
Music has always been my passion and I started to learn to play drums when I was a young. Both during and after my music studies I practiced every day in my bedroom, encouraged both by my family and our neighbours.
I´ve learned many different rythms, constantly wanting to challenge myself. I´ve played with various popular cuban artists such as Leo Vera, Gitanos, Alma Latina and Buena Vista Social Club member Maria Ochoa, and have also played house music at night clubs.
I played with the fusion band To´mezclao for many years. We got very popular, travelled across Cuba for concerts and were on two tours in the UK, with the Glastonbury festival as highlight.
I also played with the hip hop duo La Reyna y La Real for a few years before I moved to Sweden. We had the opportunity to play at a festival in Washington, US, we performed on national TV many times and won the cuban Grammy.
I´m excited about being in Stockholm, where I recently joined the band Afrobeatos Dance Explosion. I am now looking forward to more musical collaborations and opportinuties.
